Well I guess the other people who wrote reviews didnt factor in that the little man action figure was the person you are supposed to rescue because it is a RESCUE helicopter and the person flying the helicopter is the child playing with the toy. I guess I would maybe complain a little if I paid full price for the toy but we bought it from a thrift store for 3 dollars, at first only the sound effects worked and I was ok with that. I put brand new batteries in and the blades, wench and front light all started working, but when the batteries start running low the wench and helicopter blades stop working.( just keep fresh batteries in) I think this toy is so cool and my son loved it too. So, I make the kids play with one color at a time. That isn't always super fun. But with this set the fun is not dependent on mixing the colors because what the kids mainly use the play-doh for is making a body for their 'Mr. Potatoe head'. A kid can make a ball, or a lump - depending on the age of the child- and then decorate it with eyes, nose, hair etc. We've had older kids (up to 9) play with kids 3 years old and it is something they can all do together. This is one of the best toys I got so far for my 21 month toddler. She LOVES playing with the PlayDoh, but she still lacks the coordination to make figures by herself. This product is great for this age. She figured out very quickly how to use the accessories to mold the PlayDoh. Now she wants to play with it every day, and she is learning to play by herself, so it gives me free time! I definitely recommend it.

Two more comments:
- It comes with scissors and some smaller pieces. I just put these apart until she grows up a little. The rest of the accessories are very safe for a young child.
- It only comes with two colors. But for me that is enough. In fac, I always use one of them. My child is still small enough to play with two colors without mixing. So this is not a disadvantage. But if the child is older, I recommend buying some more play doh to complement.

When I was a young child back in the 1950's one of my very favorite pastimes was playing with my Tinkertoy Construction Set. I would wile away the hours all by myself building all manner of bizarre creations that never really amounted to much. So if you are the parent of a young child do yourself and your child a favor and consider the simple gift of a Tinkertoy Construction Set. Another fun feature of the set is the surfboard. It can be used a diving board, a mold, or a springboard to jump off. The skeleton fish are strange looking when bare, they look like half a skeleton with a loop. Mold their body in the fish mold, and then hook the loop with the fishing pole.

The Doh-Doh Island Beach Buggy is more of a playset, than a set of Play-Doh. Most of the doh sets we own include molds, cutters, rolling pins, cookie cutters, and molding compound. This set can be played with independently without the doh. I think that's why it's so entertaining. When my son first opened the box, he played on the floor for an hour or more without Play-Doh. It's really an amusing playset.

Indiana Jones Potato Head is easier to unpack than some others. Cut or remove a piece of tape to access the form fitting clear plastic shell within. Mr. Potato Head and his accessories then pop out with relative ease. A young child will need some assistance from an adult. Mrs. Spudman assisted me. Kids might not appreciate this ingenious touch, but inside the box covering the back and side panels is a yellow and red map of the Caribbean area including Central America and North South America. It's worth saving the box for this piece of brilliant décor.

Two included AAA batteries are required to power the music. Battery life will depend on amount of play and hat pressings. When the time comes, a Phillips screwdriver is needed to access and replace the batteries.

Play value - If the students with whom I shared Indiana Spuds are any indication, I think a little Potato Head fan will love this one. Of course using and combining pieces from other Mr. Potato Heads in the family will expand the play possibilities and configurations. Like the standard Mr. Potato Head, Indiana Spuds has a trunk door to access a storage area for extra pieces.
This Potato Head, for whatever reason, doesn't seem as steady on his feet as some others. He may fall over if not leaning on something or balanced just right. This slight tipsiness is understandable and forgiven.

Luckily, I didn't pay the outrageous price for mine. I was given one free. But I was surprised when I got it home that it was so small and oval, not round. I remembered them being a lot bigger when I was younger. My 3 1/2 year old was able to get it moving, but not very fast and she seemed too big for it. It doesn't work well on carpet. We had to move it to the kitchen linoleum floor for just a bit more speed and even then it was pretty slow. My 19 month old couldn't spin it himself at all and I think it frustrated him. The other thing is the Simon Says game gets annoying after awhile. The kids just want to spin and don't always care about the game playing. I suggest leaving it off. I honestly don't know how people gave this thing such good reviews. My 5 year old son and I are almost in tears trying to get this thing to work. The mouth doesn't stay open that well, and when it does stay open, it takes a one-in-a-million shot to get it to close the mouth and eject the ball. 99% of the time, the ball gets stuck inside the mouth and you have to go over, try to get it to prop up and retrieve your ball manually.

On the off chance that you do get the perfect shot that triggers the ball return, the gator's mouth is still closed and you have to open it before you can take another shot, which seems to defeat the purpose of the ball return!

We've had this toy for about 8-9 months. I wasn't something I ever cared to review since it was just one of the many little 'filler' toys in my 14 month old sons collection. The whole line of Tonka's little Wheel Pals is just wonderful. The wheels can't come off and the paint doesn't scratch like Hotwheels do. Hotwheels are great, but not for my 14 month old right now (Hotwheels are for ages 3 and up as per their packaging). My son is still pretty oral and the coloring hasn't come off after extensive chewing and they've even lasted the washer and dryer. I clean them by throwing them in the dishwasher and there are no pockets where water gets stuck in to slosh around. Also, the wheels role very well on the hard wood and tile floor and also outside on the side walk.

These are, by far, my son's favorite toys. They accompany him EVERYWHERE; in the bath tub, on the high chair, to the grocery store, down the slide at the park, and he even insists on clinging to one as he falls asleep!

These are great, durable cars for little guys and I highly recommend them to anyone with a toddler, especially the boys. My nephew will turn one this summer and he will definitely be getting these as birthday presents from us.
